UAE Participates in FITUR Madrid 2026, Strengthening International Tourism Partnerships

Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, took part in FITUR Madrid 2026 (January 21–25), strengthening tourism partnerships and the UAE’s tourism identity internationally.

The Minister held bilateral meetings with tourism ministers from Brazil, Portugal, Azerbaijan, and Argentina, noting international visitor spending reached AED 217.3 billion in 2024 (up 5.8%), with hotel occupancy rising to 79.5%.

He also met UN Tourism representatives, noting Emirati Sheikha Al Nowais’s election as the organization’s Secretary-General, and Al Ain’s selection as Arab Tourism Capital for 2026.
